Mrs. Taylor

I am honored to be a part of the Silver Lake- Salem Jt 1 School District.  As a teacher, principal and Superintendent with 28 years of experience  I’ve been fortunate enough to work in a variety of schools and communities serving diverse populations in the K-12 sector and higher education. 

Teaching is perhaps my first love but a close second is leading high performing schools, like Riverview Elementary.  I believe that we can ensure success for all students by focusing on their strengths, passions, and needs so they can be prepared for a future they choose. In my opinion, it is critical that we build skills in our students that allow them to advocate for themselves so they can navigate a future of opportunities we don’t even know exist.

Jamila Dugan says it best in terms of our jobs as educators: “Our job is to help young people find their voices, not stamp them with ours.”  I look forward to working together to support all students as they navigate their educational journey.
